It's hard to reply to your comment. I don't think they are 'different things'. Taco bell and del taco are just an imitation. Tortillas on the grocery shelves taste like shit to me. When you eat at taco bell, you can't feel the dust of the flour on your hands or feel the texture.

Well yeah, that's kind of the point, and the reason why everybody stopped going to Taco Bell a few years ago. But that has nothing to do with having grown up with real Mexican food, as until recently the prices weren't that similar. I mean, you can say you could spend the same amount and be much more satisfied with the restaurant/taqueria food, but if you just wanted to have a late night drunken feast, nothing could beat Taco Bell. Pic related was the last time I went to a sit-down Mexican restaurant, and this was probably over $20, where it would have been more like $14 a few years ago. I'm not sure I can even find street tacos for less than $2 each anywhere near me anymore. So while it may be stupid to pay restaurant prices for fast food, restaurant prices have also gone up.

Del Taco's sauces don't make any sense to me. With Taco Bell, you've got yellow-orange = mild, orange = hot, red = fire (hotter hot), black = diablo (hot and smokey). Nice, logical progression. Del Taco goes red = Original (mild), black = Scorcho (medium) and orange = Inferno (hot). It's backwards from what you'd expect.
