Why hasn't regular sirloin or top sirloin been on sale in any groceries circular this year?

I've seen strip, bone in ribeye, crummy london broil... but no plain cheap sirloin. That's my everyday steak and I am almost running out!

Also, praise Liru.

Liru has all the beef access. You must ask her nicely.

Playing an unauthorized rip of Zone’s Liru game after spewing countless loads to the demo version on newgrounds is actually how I first got into anime and shit, MagiPoka was my first series that I consciously recognized as anime (so not counting Pokémon, digimon, yugioh, et cetera)

Anyhow, can’t say without knowing the specifics of your area’s meat/ food distribution setup. I imagine the sirloin is going to a location where it’s more popular, so you’ll just have to wait and buy a lot of it when it’s finally available

It's just how it is. Groceries are constantly studying trends and stats when it comes to meat and cuts because they lose money when it isn't purchased. There's little reason to have a ton of cuts on hand at all times.
It is annoying though, the only way around this is find a butchery, but not everyone has a well stocked one and everything will be more expensive across the board.

I just remember when I last stocked up a year ago every grocery store had then and they were either USDA Select or Choice. I found one place selling family packs of top sirloin choice for $4.99 a pound. Then nothing for a year.

You'd think the specials revolve around holidays like July 4th/Labor/Memorial day (steaks) Turkey (thanksgiving) Corned beef (st Patrick's day) but this last year was all messed up and everyone seems to be pushing chuck steak, London broil/flank steak for the price of sirloin and sometimes NY strip.

Sure you can find top sirloin, but it's like 8 bucks.

I am waiting for the weather to turn cold so I can make a nice beef stew cooked with mushrooms and wine. HEB was selling "Texas Wagyu" Chuck Roast for $6 a pound last weekend. The marbling on it is divine.

That sound delicious anon. I am jealous. I liked Texas when I visited a few times. It's just so far south... and hot. It seems like many people from down there and Chicago still are getting good beef prices. I don't have much experience with Texas grown, Wagyu but at that price, I'd definitely work it in. I've had a-5 imported but never seen anything buy ground in the groceries.

Honestly it is ideal cut for a roast. No shortage of high quality beef here, but I have had Snowflake beef in Japan before which is mind-blowing (actually melts in your mouth).

Texas is hot (just like Liru), but the weather should turn cold here in about a month.

Excess sirloin tends to get made into ground beef for quicker sale instead of going on sale as itself.

Oh I know. I canonically have a pen pal in Texas. I had Matsuzaka in Osaka once. It was delicious but expensive. As for the a-5 importer steak I had, it was from Costco and pretty good, but maybe too soft.

Yeah, it's an amazing special bite, but I prefer a bit more chew to my gyu. Speaking of which, the legends about Texas brisket are true. You have got to try it. A good brisket has a char on the outside, and a minimum 1/4-inch smoke ring on the inside. A lot of places cheat. Dickey's BBQ doesn't count.

I think that was just boneless shoulder roast, not what he is holding. That is a tough cut of beef that is really exercised.

Select does get that cheap here in Texas, but not that Wagyu. Although I though the $6/lb wagyu was a steal personally. It is sitting in my freezer, waiting for the weather to get cold.
