Slop is the type of food fed to pigs, and they eat slop because they have a much more diverse palette compared to other domesticated animals.
Cows and sheep are perfectly content eating grass, which is has no flavor except bitterness. Calling someone's food "grass" should be much more insulting.
Pigs, however, desire a variety of flavors because they're nature's gourmands. That's also why they hunt truffles. If you're saying that my food is worthy of being food to such a distinguished animal, I would take that as a compliment.

1. takes little time and effort, you can throw in left overs that aren't substantial on their own, good enough flavour, very palatable
2. it lacks the finer textures, flavours, no mastery of the cooking arts required, and doesn't look very appealing

there's a time and a place for a good sloppa, but sometimes you want something a little more sophisticated
