They are sumptuously delicious potato chips flavoured with a generic version of Old Bay seasoning, which is essentially celery salt with pepper and paprika. The seasoning is most famous for its use on steamed crabs and shrimp--hence the name, "crab chips"--but it also excels when applied to French fried potatoes, hard boiled eggs, and macaroni salad. The manufacturer even now produces a Hot Sauce containing generous portions of the storied red powder, for ready application to pizza and chicken wings. (Now distributed nationwide! Ask your grocer or stockist!) But returning to your original subject of inquiry, the potato chips are expectedly savoury with the mildest pepper spice, softened and enwarmenthed by the paprika, enriched by secret spices from the savage Indies, where bare-chested dusky men hurl spears at each other, the shafts musky with generations of barbarian sweat and unwashed hands. But in these idyllic enchanted lands, a Baltimore working man will often sit upon his front stoop and daintily dine upon yon Crab Chips as the sun sinks beneath the harbor, basking in its still warm glow and smiling as the children frolic in the streets, each bite PERFECTLY followed by a single draught of National Bohemian lager (the world's finest) and a delicate dab of his lips with a pocket square. And as he then rises to enter his majestic rowhouse in the pink glimmer of the setting sun and decides who needs a beating--ever so gently, he passes wind, just gently enough not to risk an accident. THIS, dear sirs, is luxury. THIS, gentlemen, is America.

Yup I buy it often. When I was deployed to Iraq I had my wife send me a care package with like 8 cans in it. I would take one up with me to the chow hall, grab some plain noodles from the hibachi bar and some cheddar from the salad bar and have me a nice 3way about once a month. Don't get me wrong homemade or restaurant is still best but canned/frozen isn't bad. I'd avoid the ones that come with spaghetti in it already though

Capitol Lunch in New Britain, a family owned location for nearly a century, currently operated by the elder Gerald and younger Matthew Warchezski. The location is known to locals as “Crapitol Lunch” and are known to come in and ask for “the shit sauce”. 2 hotdogs and an order of fries is commonly called a “Big Shitter”. You won’t find this on any menu, but if you’re a true local you’ll know. The Famous Sauce is often served in small ramekins commonly called “dookie drops” by locals and used for dipping. The sauce is also sold for $10 for an 8 ounce container, something many New Britain locals take advantage of due to the popularity of the Famous Sauce. Locals know to order it as a “Big Dump” and the owners aren’t shy about giving a little extra to people who order this way, knowing they’re what’s called a “tool city townie” and thus one of their own.
