That’s not really true, if you train your ears you can distinguish four main accent groups in North America.
>West Coast & Canada all the way to Ontario
>North East
>Midwest
>South
Americans from the Midwest and Northeast sound considerably flatter than Canadians and West Coast speakers because of the arisal of diphthongs in many vowel sounds in the last 50 years.

In Norway they look at you strange if you ask for spicy and say "are you sure?".
An Indian restaurant I used to order takeout from I eventually had to specify that I wanted real spicy and not Norwegian spicy, that finally made the food proper hot.

Stereotypes exist because they apply to a majority of people from a population, not because they're universally true. We're all human beings and are capable of not being stereotypes if we choose not to be.

You're retarded. You can't assume to fully know someone based off of his background, but there are definitely some assumptions that can be made that won't be wrong most of the time. You just have to be open minded to them not conforming to the stereotype.

After thinking about it I had the realization that he was actually (partially) correct. I've seen food channels with hispanic ladies that are clearly over exaggerating their accent. I've seen that shit on social media, too. People do it especially right now because it's good to be a minority in america right now, and everyone wants to expound any potential cultural backgrounds that may be present in their family, even if it's a very small chunk of who they are.

Why can't people just be themselves? It's annoying.
