Deviled ham in a can with a sleeve of saltine or ritz crackers has been my go to backpacking snack for the better part of 20 years. I've found that Armour meat products aren't really all that poverty friendly any more. I can get a lb of ground beef or a hunk or a small cured ham for only a few dollars more than a can of spam and would rather just use that these days.
