For example, if I want to buy beer in NY I can get it at a beer store, grocery store, or gas station. If I want spirits I need to go to a liquor store.

in FL we have Sam's Club, Publix, Target, Walmart, and Winn-Dixie that I know of with liquor sections. Publix having them connected in the strip mall or a standalone store in the same parking lot, Target and Winn-Dixie have them in the main store in a side section, Sam's has their entrances connected

At their best it's basically a whole-foods with walmart prices, just instead of focusing so hard on organic frufru shit they have a bigger selection of regular shit. Their in-house brands are way better than great value (walmart store brand) or sams club and comparable to if not exceeding the quality of kirkland brand goods for costco. They easily have the best meat and produce of any large grocer in the state that isn't whole foods and compete with their level of quality in a lot of cases.

HEB is OP AF. The only bad thing I could say about them is they're usually always fucking packed and they could do a better job of carrying stuff that's WIC certified but they're awesome if you're on food stamps or financial aid.

When Gorbachev came to the states he stopped at an HEB in Texas that blew his mind, guy thought it was fake. Stopped at like five of them in the state with as little notice as possible or none at all other than him and his security detail walking in to make sure he wasn't getting duped, in fact the store he first visited and was photographed at is still in operation today.
