Sausages can be good alone or in bread. I don't see how a sausage without bread obsoletes sausage in bread.

German here, the fact that other countries use inferior sausages for anything boggles my mind. It's not like our technique of making Bratwurst is secret knowledge.

I also do not understand how "people" enjoy fine instead of coarse sausages. Coarse is OBJECTIVELY so much better, it has more texture and taste. There is absolutely no reason to buy fine. I know this local hunter who makes coarse boar sausages and they are absolutely divine.

none German here, i think bratwursts are disgusting and the reason only you have them isn't secret knowledge, it's because only you enjoy them

The point of hot dogs is that they are already cooked so you can feed a bunch of people quickly and cheaply

I know now what it's like when absolute plebs think they know anything about your national dish and I do not like the feeling. The absolute state of this board. Currywurst is an ok dish btw, but it's only purpose is to hide shit bratwurst under a layer of you're-not-able-to-taste-anything-else-than-ketchup-and-curry. Smothering a good bratwurst in that shit sauce should be punishable by death.

It's strange, because here in the USA sloppa dogs are ubiquitous, but it's not like the better stuff isn't available. BBQ will use higher quality sausages, typically Polish or Czech style, or sometimes German style sausages in Texas.

I guess people use the cheap shit because it's what they are used to from hotdog stands, sports stadiums, etc.

for me its devon and tomato sauce sandwich as my poorfag guilty pleasure. you call it bologna in the US.
also the really shitty frozen burger patties that are mostly sawdust and parsley, I crave them sometimes.

>The culinary performance of Berlin is mediocre at best. A sausage made of ground seperator meat with ketchup and curry spice is sold here as a curry sausage and as a culinary stroke of genius. Any sensible person would hardly consider a sausage with ketchup to be the holy grail of culinary art, and probably not even a recipe. Generously, the rest of the republic lets the Berliner in this belief in order not to let his inferiority complexes get the upper hand.

Never had bad Frankonian ones. Thuringians can be seasoned with too much caraway from time to time.
