"Pro Home Cooks" is pretty good although he has done the thing where he has become a conduit for product placement advertisements and sponsored youtube crossover/co-op videos.
Whenever you see one of his videos, you'll know 5 seconds in whether its an actual cooking video or just an ad. His vids on cooking a perfect steak, making marinara, and chicken teriyaki were all pretty decent. Some of the "15 minute meal" videos are pretty good too.

They are that low functioning. Why is I real shit? It brings in some money, they are happy to accomplish something and have fans, viewers are entertained. It's not like this is making people who watch their content think less of downies, if anything it brings awareness to the cause and improves people's perception of them as they are genuinely endearing

If you go to a preschool or elementary school talent show you're gonna see the kids dancing and singing objectively terribly but their yearning and goofyness will make you entertained, crack a few smilles and you're gonna tell them they did great and they will feel proud of themselves. There's nothing insidious about being patronizing in a situation like that. I think a lot of people don't realize that you can whip up something good and quick, and this channel fills that basic cooking education niche.
Watching Claire wash the dishes at the end is somewhat wholesome.

Clara Depression Era Cooking was one of my favorites, because her recipes were actually pretty good, cheap, and she told grandma stories which made watching the videos relaxing and comforting. She passed away a few years ago though, RIP.
