I’ve only ever had it from the supermarket. I need to try making it some time or getting it in a nice French restaurant.

This is my go-to with baby lead salad, cherry tomatoes, a lot of red onions and green olives, olive oil and lemon juice.

yeah sure good solution but that's irrelevant. nobody has ever actually had a hot quiche in their life. its either at a buffet (lukewarm) or someone brings it to a party with foil on top (lukewarm). its usually rubbery, dry, the texture is shit, the flavor is disgusting. i mean a fucking EGG pie? what is that like 30 eggs? its a terrible idea and its fucking gross. plain and simply gross, disgusting, repulsive. quiche is fucking gross.

sure is..
I've gotten LOTS of pussy from knowing how to cook. I mean, unless you're some kind of dysgenic retread, quiche is an amazing anytime food.
I haven't made one for probably 2-3 years, but if you make it in a square baking dish, it's a perfect on-the go food too.
I prefer to make my paste with lard, but butter works okay for this too. Ideally, you'd use the fat from the bacon, but depending on the bacon, this can make the crust way too salty.
Anyone who thinks quiche is just for women has somehow fallen for the "Real men don't eat Quiche" bullshit. It's great cold too.
A quick wrap in waxed or parchment paper--out the door.
>>19517711

It's a good one. The metro-sexual-ness of Brian and of his presentation of process grates on my masculine sensibilities, but the recipe is solid. Brian wore Frozen dresses as a kid, guaranteed.Wifey prolly pegs him too--bet his ass looks like an old school Fischer-Price person.
*Protip- 30 minutes to an hour is MUCH better than an overnight rest.

>Anyone who thinks quiche is just for women has somehow fallen for the "Real men don't eat Quiche" bullshit. It's great cold too.

I was served it in the Army. All the men hated it, with a fucking passion. I tried it multiple times, and hated the FUCK out of quiche. We just didn't eat when it was served, it was that fucking bad. And the place serving it KNEW how to cook, they had great dishes most of the time, especially compared to field cooks and shit, and they fully mogged MREs (which is easy).

Honestly, its one of those things that is a pain to make from what I see online, so I've never cared enough to see if I could out do them. I don't want to sink hours into food that could be absolute shite at the end of it by design.

If you get the cheapass eggs, there is a risk that you might find a chick inside of them inside of them instead of an egg.
My apologies if any ladies find my use of the term "chick" offensive.

KEK! Well, to be fair, this is the same Army that brought you the VOMLET™ MRE.
I don't know what it is about most Men's organizations,(And the Army definitely IS that-regardless of today's departures), they can't cook eggs for shit.
In the Boy scouts, EVERY SINGLE TIME we had eggs for breakfast, they would be fucked up in some way. The absolute worst was at a jamboree where one of the dad's made this fucking horrifying scrambled eggs and TREET® FoodClot.
Now, Spam isn't great, but it can be done well, and Spam and eggs is pretty decent, especially if you're hungry. But Treet® has a lot more sugar, and a kinda "off" chemical smell/taste anyway, and the resulting overcooked foodlump, while appearing to be edible enough, smelled like a chemical toilet at a hippie festival, and the sickly sweet/salty mess refused to go down, even with copious amounts of Bug-Juice.
What a tragic waste of 100 eggs.

Dude
It's the Army
You think they were serving you food, let alone French food?
Get a grip, you were fed egg powder casserole, not quiche
Also quiche is lazy food, it's leftover pie, not something that takes hours to meticulously prepare
