Are these pizza ovens decent or is it a scam? Like...much better than your regular indoors oven?

Did he move in with his kid or something?

Think he'll get into a big fight about poor lighting and shabby curtains ruining his videos? Kind of hard to choke someone out with one hand.

A huge amount, if not most home ovens, cannot go past 500F. Very very few can go past 550. Basically none can go past 600. A pizza oven that can not only pass 600, but even reach 900-1000 is a huge difference by comparison.

A pizza steel in a normal oven will give you better results than one of those mini pieces of shit. Pizza steels are the king until you get a real pizza oven.

Basically this. If you tune your oven, you can probably do it, but it would likely be a fire risk. These things are mediocre and work ok.

>> No.19492066

>>19492033
Propane is pretty clean burning and the fire doesn't get in contact and they usually flow the fire over the pizza. I doubt you're getting much odor from it.

Regular indoor ovens can only reach like 500 degrees, maximum. Authentic Italian pizzas are traditionally made in just a few minutes in brick ovens, which bake at like 600-700 degrees. You simply can't get the right crispness, crunch, char, etc. if you make it in a normal oven.

I have an Ooni Koda 12 and it took me a while to get it right, but yeah, it’s awesome. It gets to about 850F and makes great pizza. Here’s tonights, it’s a 13” pizza I’m just bad at taking pics.

There is no way I could do this inside. It’s a great oven, more pics incoming.

You’re not getting this kind of crust on an indoor oven.

Usually higher temperature than that actually, I just meant as a minimum

I have the same unit like the results from it too.

OP assuming it isn't just a ja/ck/ thread, seriously take a look at the Oonis. If I had a chance to do it again, I would have bought the 16 instead. That is because I would have liked the extra space to cook batches of pizza more efficiently.

Pizza steel on grill, heat block o steel in grill, put pie on steel. Simple as.

>> No.19492324

It's not a scam. They are pretty good. Slightly better than a pizza steel but more inconvenient to use. I would not choose to own one personally because it's still not as good as picking a pie up from amazing pizza restaurants near me so why would I bother.

I made a thread about these a couple of weeks ago
https://archived.moe/ck/thread/19440411/#19441199

I ended up getting the Gozney, pic rel.
We used it for the first time last night and it was great. It was an after work rush job, dough we made the day before in the bread machine (recipe from the bread machine book), jarred sauce and cheap mozzarella from the supermarket.
They came out great, definitely happy with the purchase. We used the gas and on Sunday we're going to try the wood burner
