>A whole puff pastry pie in a tin.

What a time to be alive.

My ancestors would never have imagined it. A luxury, kingly meal encased in a metal shell - ready to cook at a moments notice in any hot kiln or oven.

I think they would approve of it and am saddened I cannot share it with them.

>fray bentos pies
nigga those things are fucking horrible
just get a pukka pie in the tinfoil takes 20 minutes less and you can actually eat it ith your hands instead of scraping burnt and undercooked pastry from the tin

Pukka pies inevitably expire or require freezing to maintain their freshness. The tinned pie offers a highly non perishable meal that is great on its own or with vegetables.

i cant argue with that, i think my nana has had one in the cupboard for like 5 years and its still in date or something

I don't think I've had a Pukka Pie in years. The chicken ones were decadently greasy. Really is nothing like them overseas either unless you go to British enclaves.

It might have been the odious chippy I ordered it from, time spent under heat lamps causes all the oil to dribble out.
Even despite their reputation for poor quality they've picked up in recent years, the vegetarian ones are pretty good too - but i find all pies are somewhat good even if they're a little bad.

>>19463814
Yes, a kingly meal indeed.

I once had a dream that I was in a cave after a nuclear war but it was actually OK because in the cave was a very large supply of Fray Bentos in many flavors. So I would go out into the Nuclear Wilderness and search for things and explore, then come back at night to my cave that I had camouflaged and eat my Fray Bentos.
Woke up and was not happy about it lads.

Imagine how much they'd be worth if you had access to a bunker filled with thousands of them.

Don't remind me. I want to go back to my Bentos bunker so I can eventually get a wife and live happily eating Fray Bentos in our comfy nuclear wasteland.
