Scratchy throat? Honey. Burned your finger? Honey. Want a sweet treat? Honey. Need a food with a lot of different types and variety of flavour? Honey.
I have an entire cabinet full of jars with different kinds of honey I purchased directly from a beekeeper organisation. SS tier food that should bee in every household.

about that. guy I worked with got bit by a spider and decided that smearing honey on it would be better than going to the doctor, he almost lost his leg.

>> No.19418601

>>19418544
Ah, that may be true.
I've only read that some types of honey can work for minor burns https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3188068/ but that's it.
It's probably better to go for alternatives if there's uncertainty about which type to use and how bad the wound is.
>he almost lost his leg
Oh damn. What kind of spider was it? Dealing with poisons is different from dealing with minor burns, although given how little I know about this, I can't really give medical advice so I take everything back about what I said about using honey for any wound treatment.
Honey is still pretty cool though.

I thought cavendish bananas are extinct due to some rot disease and what we eat bow are some inferior cultivar that tastes half as good as cavendish. Also there are apparently a bunch of other cultivars that taste way better but can't survive being transported so you can't get them outside of the caribbean

>> No.19418805

>>19418714
You are incorrect. Cavendish is the most common cultivar today, and has been since the 1950s. Prior to the 1950s, the Gros Michel (sometimes called Big Mike) cultivar was the most common. A fungal disease wiped out most Gros Michel plantations, but not all of them; you can still buy Gros Michel bananas at some speciality places. And yes, there are a bunch of other cultivars with a variety of flavors that do not ship well.

I go through phases with bananas. Right now I think they're just mushy starch with some sugar and are good for about 1 second until they turn into even more of a tasteless pile of mush.
I've been eating a ton of ice cream and other sugary slop lately though. Maybe I'm just a bit overloaded with sugar.
