Do people actually prefer mayo over miracle whip for their day to day meals?

Mayo just has no flavor at all. It is basically just a bonding agent as it is and adds a metric fuckload of calories for very little gain. Miracle whip may be something of an acquired taste but at least it is a taste. I can tell instantly when my sandwich has some on it and the meal is better for it.

This thread is a reminder to make your own mayo (to me too, I need to make another batch).
2 egg yolks
1-2 lemons juiced
1 (you don't need to use all of it) clove garlic, microplaned or otherwise finely crushed
1-3tbsp honey/sugar/maple syrup to taste
1-2 tsp salt
optional 1 tsp prepared or dry mustard
1.5 cups neutral oil
tiny pinch guar or xantham gum to get the thicc texture of commercial mayo
put the egg in a bowl
put everything else but the oil on top
pour the oil over
put an immersion blender in the bowl, pulsing, at lowest speed, then you can glue it all together once it starts turning to emulsion
you want it to be slightly over-flavorful because you aren't just eating it by itself

I am a burger and proud of it. I also cut mayo from my very healthy fat burning chicken sandwiches from McDonalds because it is empty calories and adds no flavor to my 400 calories deep fried glued chicken chunk patty.

Mayo is just a fat. it's main purpose is to cover the bread so it doesn't get soggy from the water that's in the meat and vegetables.

Euros like to pretend they're superior to this, but the reality is that they just use cheese or butter on a sandwich for the same purpose. It's all just bread protection.
