This stuff any good? Good for an IPA? Price for six is decent

>> No.19409997

Yeah it's fine. Easy to drink, inoffensive amount of hops. 4.5% so you can drink them all day and not get fucked up, plus you can get them in a 15 pack.

>> No.19410011

I've always thought session IPAs don't make any sense, but Founders is "okay" if that's what you're going for. I'd honestly just go for an American Pale Ale if you're looking something easy drinking but still flavorful, rather than something that tries to combine two opposing styles.

I was considering that too
Maybe something like this?

What this guy said, but I would add that Dale's is better, as far as session IPAs go. Founder's is all right.

Yes, exactly something like that. I don't even recommend Sierra Nevada at this point because I just assume everyone has already tried it. It's been the number one gateway for people who grew up drinking macro lagers realizing that beer can actually be flavorful for over 2 decades now, and it's still solid.

>> No.19410208

I can't drink IPAs and I can drink this stuff. Make of that what you will. The only other IPA I can drink is Bell's Two Hearted.

A few of my friends got into MTG late in life (20s) and these have both made those weekend sessions a little more fun without making me too stupid.

>daytime easy-drinking beer?
The ones I mentioned, plus English bitters <5% ABV. Fuller's ESB. Not a snob though; I'll have a bud or coors or whatever.

>Canadian beer?
Quebec. Unibroue, St. Ambroise, Dieu Du Ciel, Le Trou de Diable, Les Trois Mousquetaires. I don't even live in Quebec; they just make good shit.

>Best country for beer?
USA

>Best beer in general?
Trappistes Rochefort 10 aged for a decade. Dogfish Head 90 Minute. Boulevard Tank 7. La Chouffe. Weihenstephaner Vitus.

Ontario, where I live, has state-owned alcohol sales. This means we get good prices due to massive purchasing power, but not great variety; you've gotta either travel or wait until good shit is for sale locally.

>>19411081
It's good. Certain American IPAs are kinda... I dunno, maltier or something than everyone else's? Dogfish Head 90 Minutes, Bell's Two Hearted, and Founder's Centennial are good examples of this style that doesn't seem to get made anywhere else.

Most IPA's aren't really for me. If it's cold outside drink a stout or porter. In summer I'll drink some cheap ass mexibeer (estrella - Te estoy mirando) with a lime in it.

But I'm also this guy. If you've got cheap swill (icehosue does not count here) in your fridge, I'm drinking that too.

It's okay. It seems to get worse and worse every single year, but so does Founders. Never something I would go out of my way to get, but if I was trapped at a dive bar or itching for a beer at a shady liquor store, it'd be there.

Literally the only reason to buy IPA is the high ABV. Up to 8% is still not worth it because malt liquor goes that high. 9%+ and we're talking. There is a seasonal release here in leafland that runs September to February that I like
