So back in the mid to early 90s (I’m thinking 92-95 era) Krystal’s had these huge blueberry muffins w crumb on top. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what I’m talking about and if they did, had a recipe for it. I have no idea if this is the right place to ask but I figured I’d give it a shot.

Just google it

>> No.19403669

literally never even heard of Krystal

>> No.19403709

The crumb topping is just melted butter, sugar, flour, vanilla and cinnamon if you like, mixed together in a bowl until it forms a thick crumbly batter. You chill that and add it to the top of your regular blueberry muffin batter.

No doubt I’ve made blueberry muffins from a variety of recipes, nothing is the same. They made the serving size smaller at first then disappeared it from the menu around 95-97. Didn’t know if anyone had a site for old commercial food chain recipes or something like that if they didn’t know this one specific.

did elvis like krystal burgers?

“Yes he did. A lot of the times Krystal hamburgers was probably one of the main ones."

“And he had ordered, oh gobs and gobs of them. And everybody up in Graceland would eat on them.”

"The fast-food chain was founded in 1932 and has locations to this day in the Southeastern United States."

"The restaurant is well known for its square hamburgers with steamed-in onions."

Yea I have no idea if the muffins were specific to the Krystal chain or if White Castle had them too around them time. I’m from the southeast though, and didn’t know what a White Castle was until the movie.

Maybe write to the company to see if they’ll give more info. If it was the Blueberry Thrill Muffin I think the trademark for that was cancelled in 1994, which would predate the Internet Archive (if you wanted to try and check their website for an ingredient list).

I’ll def check that out thanks for the info!
