Beer causes a stinging pain at the hinge of my jaw. Why does it do this?

Cavity in you molar.

Dentist says i dont have any cavities tho. If that were true then other foods would cause pain but its only beet and only a few minutes after i start drinking.

Is it all the time? This happens to me sometimes and I've noticed eating/drinking something acidic starts it off, then it stings every time I take a drink, goes away after 10-20 minutes.
It first hit me when I had a Corona with the lime in it. I don't drink them often so haven't noticed it in a while though.

Not every time. Could be an interaction with something else. Ive wondered if it means im dehydrated.

Sounds very similar to what I feel sometimes. I drink shit tons of water all the time, so I've never even considered dehydration. I haven't experienced it for a few months, so I don't really remember conditions at the time, if something caused it. Good luck.

Odd that it’s just beer, I wonder if something about it is interacting with your Parotid Salivary Glands (they’re about in that area) which is causing the pain - I’m a total glandlet but just speculating it could be irritation of the opening itself or alternatively some minor swelling that blocks the opening (and the pain is saliva building up).

Going off of this, OP. What beer are you drinking? Is it extremely bitter IPAs? Because that can trigger the parotid sometimes. Similar to really sour flavors.

hah, what a silly, yet common, mistake. i'm always finding myself mixing up my cold beer with my cold thumb tacks

That makes sense too. IPA drinkers lose the ability to distinguish liquids from crushed glass, thumb tacks, etc.

>> No.19345882

Coca cola does that to me. Very painful. Its a cramp in the salivary gland bc its so acidic.

Beer causes my man tits to swell really bad. It's very unsightly. I'm fairly thin besides leftover gyno from when I was a fat fuck and beer makes them go from not bad to holy fuck... NEVER GET FAT ANONS. IT NEVER EVER GOES AWAY.

Your facial nerves are reacting to the temperature/carbonation/taste sensation. Here's your actual answer OP. You probably grind your teeth.

Same thing happens to me. It's not "pain". It's like an ultra sharp tart/sour sensation in the back corner of the jaw. It happens a lot when I'm eating food and drinking beer. Happens more with darker, richer beer. I just figured my taste nerves are getting overloaded by the abundance of goodness. Sour taste area is the side of your tongue so it probably runs to those areas of your jaw.

That's because you are putting the alcohol in the wrong orifice. Try putting it in your mouth next time.

Sometimes I yawn and overextend that jaw muscle and it hurts for days. I don't drink beer normally, maybe a couple times a year. It has happened to me a handful of times the past few months so I guess I should bring it up to my dentist.

Does it also happen with shitty donuts and other yeasty baked goods? Do cheap preservative-heavy snacks and raw onions give you heartburn/nausea? If so, might be a sulphur allergy, I've got the same issue. That pain is your salivary glands swelling, by the way.

>> No.19348153

this happens to me too and I figure it's the alcohol inflaming my lymph nodes.
