bro just get essentials like flour eggs milk, spices, and then grab stuff you need for a little while. After a couple weeks of running to the store you'll know what you need and how often.

boneless skinnless chicken breasts (or tenderloins if available)
ground chicken/turkey whatevers cheaper
bell pepper x2
onion x2
zucchini x2
bag of small avocados
bag of shredded cheese
3 apples
raspberries
strawberries
1 big ol cauliflower
frozen broccoli
mushrooms
tortillas
whole wheat english muffins
nonfat greek yogurt (vanilla)
herbs (cilantro, mint)
hummus
eggs
nonfat milk
some grains (farro, quinoa, brown rice)
some sort of canned/jarred sauce, curry etc

then I'll get whatever's on sale or looks good. and if I'm planning a meal, stuff for that.

things I keep in my cupboard in cans:
black beans
corn
chicken stock
pineapple
coconut milk
enchilada sauce
canned chicken/tuna

that should be a good start. I'll spend 60-80/wk for 2 of us. I get my eggs and chicken at costco, as well as cases of the canned stuff for better prices.

Aside from basic essentials, you should definitely always keep an eye out for sales, especially on meat. See how much they're marking the item down from its usual price, sometimes you can save a ton. You can even plan ahead and look at the online flyers for markets that you go to so you'll know what to look for/plan recipes

Always have a supply of rice and pasta.
Grab some fruits, I personally like mixing them with cottage cheese.
I usually pick up some meat, if you get a good bulk deal take it and freeze the excess.
I try to at least make a salad with most meals if I don't incorporate vegetables into them.
Also if you have some time on your hands make bread. It's not massively cheaper but I find it fun.

This is from 2 years ago so prices are 100% higher now. I go every 6 weeks and a lot of condiments and baking supplies are only gotten every 6 months or longer.

You spend 100 dollars real fast at a walmart and go more than 2 times a week.

So I suggest you buy meat retard. Don't go buying too many vegetables or things that are going to spoil and you're not going to eat.

Eat out stupid, and if you do groceries you do them to your hearts content.

I personally think it's responsible to buy chicken legs for a BBQ and a sack of potatoes. Boom, burger and French fries if you get some ground beef.

Buy a loaf of bread. I like Mrs. Bairds or sara lee. Make sandwiches out of deli meat. Get hot dogs and van de kamps fish sticks to go with your bread.

Again with the chicken you can make broth if you know what you're doing.

Get a tv dinner

Just like that you're eating sándwiches and saving money. Get a bag of fish and learn to bread it off youtube. Put some lemon on it. Make Fish tacos out of tilapia.

Buy a bag of shrimp for chinese food and cóctel de camarón. Youtube it so you learn how to make it. Or ask me.

I buy avocados tortillas and cheese to make flautas. Rice and beans. It's easy.

Spaghetti and meatballs is another food you can cook. Learn to make albóndigas from ground meat.

My mom buys a lot of tomatoes and Chiles and other vegetables. Nobody eats that shit and it spoils. Our salsa ends up being expensive.

Anyway buy meat stupid. Shit you're going to eat. Or eat outside because it spoils. It's about the same money you're going to spend.

Learn to make horchata from your rice

This is what you buy.

You make yourself a fish stick sándwich with sour cream or mayo on your white bread and you deep fry those sticks. Eat it with Ketchup too.

I have a roster of essentials that I always have in the house such as a gallon of milk, carton of eggs, some cheese, loaf of bread, some dried grains or beans, a bag of potatoes, some onions, some meat for the freezer, a handful of condiments, and either canned or frozen veggies. These are foods that either are used as ingredients for multiple kinds of dishes or things that have a reasonable shelf-life if stored correctly. Your list may be different.
I will also cook something new every week and buy a little more than what I need to build up a decently stocked pantry (provided they have a good shelf life or are freezer friendly).
I usually go shopping once a week unless I am making something special or I ran out of something important.
