I've had a set of Tramontina pans for the last 15 years, and I've found there's very little difference in terms of durability and performance between them and All-clad.

I think you can still get a saucepan from them for like $50 or $60.

you can get all-clad saucepans new for 90-110 dollars on ebay if you don't mind scratches. otherwise the other suggestions are good

the demeyere atlantis sauciers are about 130-150€ in europe depending on size and this is one of the few expensive pieces that are actually worth it. not sure how bad the price is in america but no matter what always get the conical shape and not stuff like OP or this>>19323343

Is there any reason to buy an expensive stainless pan in the first place? As long as it has a layer of aluminum in the base to spread the heat it should be fine.

>> No.19325434

>>19325371
you buy a good one once in your life and don't have to bother ever again. you save a lot of time while cooking because it's much more efficient. you save time cleaning it because the extra coating makes it much easier to keep clean and there are no rivets that will mean at least 2 extra steps of the most annoying kind of cleaning. you don't have to replace it because it's deformed or because it looks beyond nasty due to cheap materials and lack of extra coating. you don't have to worry about food burning or stuff not cooking properly on the sides because it's impossible to fuck it up with thick quality materials

>> No.19325451

>>19325434
how is it more efficient? it is exactly the same material and the same thickness. the only real difference that i can see from your list is maybe the rivets, but if you want a durable pan you should buy one with rivets anyway, pans with spot welded handles always have a high failure rate regardless of how expensive they are. rivets never fail.

>> No.19326397

>>19326388
it's a sauce pan, things are supposed to stick. once you add the liquid, the stuck bits will dissolve into the sauce and add flavor.
for frying, you need to get it piping hot before adding a generous amount of oil.

Get at least a tri-ply, and check to see if it's made in France (most are). Ignore these faggots that say you need something more. I have a Cuisinart triple-ply made in France, and it is just as good as the All-Clad D3 I have of the same pan. I found mine at HomeGoods for cheap as fuck (same as all my other pans, which are C3P or All-Clad d3/d5). Tramontina made in Brazil is good too.

And to add, this is coming for someone who cooks literally every meal for himself (besides leftovers). Spend your money on better knives and a decent board instead of Demyere or All-Clad d5. Home Goods/Marshalls/TJMaxx is your friend. I got this enormous cutting board for 70 bucks.

literally the most retarded thing in my kitchen. don't make the same mistake. nobody needs a cutting board this big. you don't need to put your tomato cans on it while you chop up shit.

Dumb as fuck. It's called just wax the fucker and not cut meat on it. And yes, I do need to put my tomato cans on top of it because I open shit ahead of time to get prepared to layer that flavor. I literally just wipe it off after each use. I have gigantic sink, so not a big deal.
