Why do people seethe so much about plant based meat? Surely people should just eat what they want? Besides, some of it actually tastes pretty good if you leave your preconceptions at the door.

it's just /pol/troon seething. useless culture war proxy threads. personally i'm not going to eat plant-based meats because they're processed monstrosities. we should aim to be eating food with fewer ingredients, not more

it isn't the plant based food that's annoying. it's the facts that those vegan retards have to call it by the meat product's name. example vegan chicken nuggets. just call them what they are, chemical filled soy nuggets.

People often feel strongly about what they eat because it's a big part of their identity and culture. Plant-based meat can be a sensitive topic because it challenges traditional ideas of what meat should be.

That's true, plant-based meat is made in a factory instead of being raised and slaughtered. However, many people choose to eat plant-based meat because it's better for the environment and animal welfare.

Call nuggets what they are too.

Fried remolded pink slime. Vegan meat products are kinda nasty and pushed by the NWO globalist centralized finance system aggressively taking over the world, alongside eating bugs, so people distrust them and see them as a part of a greater conspiracy to lower testosterone levels to prevent Western resistance.

You can just eat beans and onions if you’re vegetarian.

I’m vegetarian and I can think of some reasons.

1. I was really drunk
2. I was really high
3. I was riding passenger with someone and forced to go to Burger King and it’s the only vegetarian thing on the menu
4. I wanted to try it ironically
5. There’s coupons/a deal that make it practically free because no one is buying it.

I've tried:
Beyond Burger
Impossible Burger
Impossible Whopper
Beyond Chicken
Whichever plant-based sausage they use at Dunkin' (Beyond, I think)
Pure Farmland Burger
LiteLife Burger
LiteLife hot dogs
Various store own-brand plant-based burgers
Marie Callender's plant-based chicken pot-pie
Some other brand of plant-based chicken pot-pie that was actually more like a hand-pie (what I would call pastel ayam; can't remember who made it)
Likely other things.
Not one was very good. The closest to being okay-ish was, surprisingly enough, the LiteLife burgers. It tasted like a very bad actual burger.
The absolute worst were the MC chicken pie and the Pure Farmland (more like Pure Feces, 2bh). They both had an almost plasticine aftertaste to them, likely from the use of flax (flax tastes like plastic because it's literally used to make linoleum tiling).
While the Dunkin' sausage was also bad, it did actually taste pretty much identical to actual breakfast sausage. Sadly, the breakfast sausage it tasted like is those shitty low-fat turkey ones.

Verdict: I've likely tried more brands and varieties of this shit than most vegans and vegetarians have and, from the vantage point of actually eating beef, pork, chicken etc and therefore not having some ancient, crumbling, half-remembered memory of what meat's texture actually is and what it should actually taste like, I can tell you that they all blow goats.
My brother and his wife are vegans and they swear to Christ that Impossible is "just like meat!" when it very much isn't. They only think that because they've not had meat in over a decade.

Also, I likely eat more vegetables and in greater variety than anyone on this board, close to 1kg daily. My shits are amazing.

There is a lot of tasty vegetable meals you can make that don't need meat. If you throw in lentils and beans and shit you can even trick people into thinking it is meat. You don't need some powdered form of a bean mushed into a shape, covered in a million chemicals to make it 'taste like chicken' and then smothered in bread crumbs and fried. Fuck off.
