19314806 No.19314806 [Reply] [Original]

These are really good and I'm sort of embarrassed that I feel that way. They're the cheapest frozen pizzas you can buy at Walmart or Target, but the crust/cheese/sauce is exactly what I want out of a frozen pizza; it's thin and crispy and gooey and melty. A lot of more expensive and fancy frozen pizzas have a crust that feels all wrong. It's not thick OR thin, just a very cheap kind of bread. At least the cracker thinnness of the Jack's crust covers up if it's not very high quality or not. It's actually really been a challenge for me to find a frozen pizza crust I like as much.

I dunno, boys, do you have a favorite frozen pizza?

Jack's is based, exceedingly based. Cracker-thin crust is the best. They never miss. And you're right, most of the """nicer""" brands are just doughy and gross, DiGiorno's being the worst offender. My actual favorite thing is to take slices of Muenster cheese and add them to the top, 20mins is the MINIMUM to get the proper level of crispiness and caramelization on the cheese. Cut into 8 slices (the pointier the triangles, the better) and serve with thinly-sliced fresh roma tomatoes.

However, if you're ever interested to capture the same vibe but in something more high-class and substantial, I'd keep an eye out for these. I don't know if they're widely distributed, seeing as it's a Chicago company and that's where I'm buying them. But if you ever come across the brand, I'd recommend it highly.

Jack's is already the most-trusted name in frozen pizza, and the prices these days are horseshit. At the wrong places, they're up to $4.50. Walmart has decimated their locations in Chicago and the surrounding area so shit's pretty dire, I honestly don't know where I'll go for my next fix. It's pushed me into the up-market FroPi's as a result.

Here in Germany some of the supermarket chains have their own in house brand that is supposed to be like food from a certain country. Some of these in house brands are supposed to be american, or maybe they are supposed to be like the supermarket chains imagine the customer to thinks about american food, I don´t know. Penny´s brand is called "Mike Mitchel" and Lidl´s brand is called "McKennedy".

The have pizza with stuffed crust. The crust is stuffed with sausage.

Penny discontinued that product, but Lidl still has it. It´s not super great, but it´s really nice if you´r hungry. A friend of mine is from the US and he said he never saw something like this there. Maybe that´s more freedom, than you can handle.

You can get your slop from Dominos or Pizza hut if you want gooey satisfying.

Or you can get it from a legit Italian place and it's better, like real pizza with quality dough. I just don't see where Frozen pizza fits in. It seems like the worst of 3 options.
