How about a fortified wine thread? There are few things I enjoy more than a glass of ice cold doce madeira with some dark chocolate, nuts and dried fruit. What do you faggots like?

Incredibly based, I just finished a bottle last week. Sandeman chads rise up!

How does Fairbanks Sherry compare to others? I like what I tried and I know there's probably better, but I want to hear people's opinions. Also, how about port? Should I try Fairbanks Port as an entry point to port?

I'm honestly just as much a fan of dry fortified as the sweet- sercial madeira, amontillado or dry oloroso sherry, rancio sec... you get some really incredible flavors and they can be fantastic with food.

Overall I'd have to say madeira is generally my favorite, but it's pretty hard to beat sherry for quality:price ratio, and imo that goes for wines in general, not just fortified.

This thread makes me want to check out an ancient bottle of Madeira that's been gathering dust in the pantry.
Fortified wines can keep for decades, right?

Yeah it lasts for as long as the cork does. You can get the cork replaced at a port house every 20 years.
What bottle is it anon?
