Their economies are also not as globalized as America’s, so labor and local resources are still valued. You have much higher-quality employees, customers, and goods. Most big cities in America have completely collapsed. If you tried to open a Taiwan-style 7-11 in a major American city there’d be graffiti all outside the building within a week and homeless junkies hanging around outside. Assuming you could bring in quality employees and be able to source a wide-variety of grab-n-go foods, the customers would not respect your location and mess up the shelves, spill food, cross contaminate anything they could touch, and shiplift you into the poorhouse. Pretty much this. All the American counterpart food chains in Asia are 10x better. This goes for KFC, McDonald's, Domino's, etc. All the Asian versions have a wider variety of items as well more frequent promotions and seasonal items.

Unironically. It’s just damn true. I’m jelly of their 7/11’s just from what I seen on YouTube. I love my country, I really do, but when the norm for our 7/11’s are expired roller hot dogs, cheap jeet owners who always keep the bathrooms closed or filthy, and run down slurpee machines, I get a bit upset. We really need to take a page out of their book and have professionalism be a part of every job.

I know you guys have a contrarian hateboner for Japan but the 7-11s in Thailand are genuinely almost as good as the Japanese ones (I guess they're only missing the steamed bun steamer and the fried chicken stand).
I've only seen one in Cambodia and it seemed like the Thai one but worse and I've seen none in Vietnam and their local chain Winmart sucks ass compared to 7-11.

I live in Thailand. Here, the 7/11 trademark belongs to a completely different company called CP. You can buy all kinds of delicious Thai food, groceries, household supplies, and so on, as well as pay your electric, water, and internet bills. It's pretty great I can't lie.
