Anyone been to a real Sichuan Restuarant?

I ordered this since it was highly recommended in the Menu, but it was inedible. The only flavour was literally the Chili and there was so much of it that the heat was way over done.

It was something only a Redditor could like.

>I need to add that even if you just grin and bear it and shovel it in to finish it, you can't, as it's full of Pepper corns and the Chili's are dried with super tough skin. So every time you take a Fork of it you get a mouth full of crap you have to spit out. Half way through I just gave up, which I never do.

sounds fucking awful. also chirri isn't even from Asia and frankly if they aren't going to use it correctly they shouldn't be allowed to use it at all

Yes.
Was good, though I can understand why others wouldn't like it. What /do/ you like to eat?

I'm not that picky, as long as it hugh quality and well cooked. Believe it or not one of my favourites is actually Chinese. Really like Turkish too.

What Shituan Dishes do you order?

hmm, last time I ate this it was pretty tasty. they used some pretty good quality chilis and it just tasted like spicy onions and fish. I highly recommend 夫妻肺片 or idk the translation, husband and wife tripe and beef.

>> No.19249306

I'm actually reheating some sichuan takeout from last night right now. It's a 50/50 mix of crispy fried chicken bits and dried chilis. I love it desu, order it at least once a month. At first I didn't eat very many of the chilis but over time I got used to it and now I eat them all. Unreasonably delicious.

Mind you it's the only thing that gives me spicy shits, I doubt there's much your body can do it digest the skin and seeds of a dried chili so going out it's pretty much as hot as it was going in.

is tripe the husband or the wife you think?

Ok I'll give these a try if I go to one again.

You recommend me something similar to what I Posted. Are you serious?

>>19249306
I love reading a thread and come across something that relates to what I'm currently doing.

I don't get dried chilis though.

You're not supposed to eat the chili and peppercorns. Scrape them off before putting the fish in your mouth

>> No.19249325

>>19249315
I gathered that, the peppercorns were so abundant and cakes into the fish it would have taken ages to pick them all off. Just incredibly dumb all around. I'd like to find a video of someone enjoying it. I'd be more amazed and entertained than seeing Aliens.

>Turkish
See, that's where we differ: I detest Turkshit and Greekal matter cuisines.
My favourite sichuanese dishes are dry pot rabbit and basic-bitch twice-cooked pork and dandan noodles. Actually, any dry pot dish is good, IMO. Ooh, also that tripe one with the peanuts in it. I don't even like tripe much, but my local place manages to make it practically melt, it's so soft.

I lost the genetic lottery and sichuan peppercorns taste like soap

I'll definitely try the dry pot stuff.

I bet you haven't even had real Turkish food.

You're not supposed to eat the chilli retard.
In fact you can reuse the chilli for a stir fry after you're done.

it's kinda different, it's chili oil with peanuts and lots of fresh green onions and sesame all in one sauce, poured over thinly sliced braised beef shank and beef tripe. pretty hard to find a good place that does it. if I had a deli slicer I'd be making this shit every week.

>you haven't even had real Turkish food
I have, actually. Dated a Turkshit. Outside of sucukluyumurta, no homemade Turkshit food is really to my taste. I like the fastfood Turkjunk better.

Seeing how you didn't like>>19249297's suggestion, I'm thinking you likely wouldn't enjoy dry pot stuff, either. Twice cooked pork is definitely more your speed, I think. And if you don't like sichuanese stuff, that's fine. I'm losing no sleep over my distaste for Turkshit food.

I'm going to try both, got a feeling I'm in for a treat this time. Well what can I say, at least you like the Kebabs, if you denied they were good if be worried about you.

Yes. I love eating at them.

The only decent authentic Chinese restaurant here is a sichuanese joint. I quite like it but you gotta love chili.

At first I was going to ask if you were sure that wasn't a dipping sauce, but then saw the submerged fish. You ate it with chopsticks instead of the chinese spoon, right? Cuz honestly I'd fuck with that.
