I don't smoke a pipe for a nicotine buzz. If I start to "feel" the nicotine I will put the pipe down for a bit. The whole process of smoking is very relaxing and I also enjoy the tastes. If I'm wound up nothing calms me down like a pipe. I average about three bowls of tobacco a week. Some nights I just want to chill out alone and read a book. I don't know why but for some reason reading and pipes go well together. It seems to help clear my mind and help me focus.

I smoke alone really only because it is just something that I do alone. It isn't a social thing. I don't go out walking and smoking either. I just enjoy sitting in a chair with a book and a bowl late at night. The only person that I smoke around is my wife. People who know me know that I smoke though. Most are surprised when they find out since it isn't very common but no one has anything negative to say. Even the anti smoking zealots that I know don't talk shit about it.

I've never been interested in flavored cigars, but my dad bought a churchill sampler from Victor Sinclair and these Don Raphael Gold's are sweeter than Swishers I tell you. First half of the smoke is all the sweetness coming off the mouth end and leaving you with brown stains on your lips. also the Nicaraguans suck, bland flavor and poor quality. both the white labels are pretty decent bang for buck though.

Yeah ive tasted a bunch of other flavored cigars, and they are bassically like smoking candy so fucking sweet. But the cherrybombs taste like a reg cigar no hint of sweetness when smoking (maybe a little if any). But they smell so great. Took me years to find out what kind they were, since i dont really smoke cigars, everynow and then id get a wiff of one of these in a las vegas casino and eventaully tracked down a guy who was smoking them. Now they are my go to.

I just picked up some HH Latakia flake from Mac Baren and I’m very excited to try a bowl of it tonight. It smells like a campfire and a leather saddle had sex on top of a bed made of peat. Makes me think of the Maritime shores. Expensive like all tobacco since I’m a leaf, but since I only smoke once or twice a week it works out to a pretty cheap habit.

Also picked up some dunhill virginia flake. Very nice if you like Virginia flake, but too sweet and molasses-like for me, at least in the tin. We’ll see how it smokes though. It’s a cold rainy night here so I’m looking forward to it
