But seriously, whiskey+coke or whiskey+water = best cocktails.

I've been making random drinks from pick related lately. Can't really go wrong if you like rum, there's only been one or two drinks so far I don't see myself revisiting that often. Planter's Punch is easy to make, Expedition and Formidable Dragon are two go-to's if I want a taller drink.

Just made a Manhattan for myself after a long ass stressful day. Bought some pricier vermouthcinstead of the cheaper stuff I'm used to in order to compliment the decent whiskey I had going into it, and holy shitballs it just turned the cocktail from an easy 8 to a 10/10. Tremendous...but now I can't go back.

Get Oerbier, Sint-Bernardus Kerst or Prearis Quadrupel instead. Or similar beer from nearby. Snowy Boston has the perfect atmosphere for it.

The best cocktails take no time to prepare and even less inventory to keep up with. For me it's a simple Campari Spritz. A bottle of Campari, a bottle of garbage sparkling wine, ice, done. Perfect aperitif, fantastic in summer. Female guests don't like it? No worries, there's always sparkling wine. And Campari Orange if you have a bottle of orange juice (don't bother with fresh ones).

My go to drinks
>Whiskey and water
> Old fashioned (sometimes I like to change up the aromatic bitters with spiced cherry bitters)
>Rum and coke
>Dark and stormy
>Gin and tonic
>Whisky sour (with egg white)
>Saturn
>Painkiller
> Blue Hawaiian
> Margarita
>Hurricane (not that overly sweet pre-mixed stuff) use real fresh juice and don't put a bunch of different fruit juices in it.
>Disaronno on the rocks with a squeeze of lemon
>Mai Tai
>Plastic cup full of cheap whiskey chased with Publix mango lemonade

a lot of the ones listed in this thread are good but not something you order at just any random bar and expect to not get dogshit. martini, old fashioned, and manhattan are good and hard to fuck up. if you're at a place that has cocktails they specialize in, get one of those. if you're in hawaii, get a mai tai or pina colada. if you're in new orleans, get a sazerac.
