Bro it overheated because you forgot to put food in your cooking

It exploded 1 minute after turning on the stove to medium. The pan was not even hot yet.
I already removed the food before I took the photo. I have no idea why this piece of shit decided to explode.

Imperfections in the ceramic. How long have you had it and how much have you used it?

oven or stovetop ?

Why would you use stoneware for baking on a stovetop?

>> No.19187856

what were you trying to cook?

A few years. It's worked fine until now, but I don't use it frequently.

Glass stovetop. internet swore up and down it was fine. I've used it stovetop before. I'll never buy a pan like this again. Chinese company using a European sounding brand name, of course. Nothing like having hot oil suddenly all over a stove surface.

I'm starting to think nothing but stainless steel is worth using.

I've checked online and they say it's fine, just don't slam it down or it will crack the stove. Well the stove is just bloody fine but the pan is the one that cracked.
Meanwhile some peasant in the 1600s had a family heirloom pot that could last through a nuclear explosion, and today's pans are nothing but problems.

Damn dude, I don't know what to tell you other than stoneware is generally not made for stovetop, especially things like glass ones because they heat extremely unevenly and in bursts of very high heat.
While the Chinaman sold you shitty goods it didn't help that you also used them poorly too.

A glass stovetop is going to heat just those white rings on the bottom. Ceramic is an insulator, so it's very slow to transfer heat to the green parts, but the glass burner can overload just those rings with massive amounts of heat, causing uneven heating. It would probably have been fine on a gas burner, although I'd still want something with a much thicker bottom, like pic related.
