Working in an institutional kitchen must be so depressing. I've worked with a few guys who've done it, but none of them ever really want to talk about it. If it was gross, or abusive, or ptsd inducing in any way they'd probably never shut up, so I can only assume it's just incredibly mundane and soul crushing.

My school did grilled cheese just like that, giving you one and a half sandwiches with one side white bread and the other side wheat. They were pretty damn good too, very crunchy and chewy. Way better than those soggy crap sandwiches that came individually wrapped.
