True. That's why restaurants seal the bag.
>15 dollar tip on top of the already higher food prices

Where the fuck do you live?
There's a 20-30% premium on all uber eats items. Service charges get tacked on, as well as delivery charges. Then you need to add a tip IN ADVANCE! Let me repeat that: you're BRIBING the delivery driver for not fucking with your food and coming over in the first place! WTF?

I am poor but I use uber eats because if you pay for uber one all the extra charges are cut out and they offer great deals all the time.
I Tip 10% or even 20% to pick up.
So why not tip the uber driver to stuff the carry our people.
Yes picking up is still cheaper but sometimes I don't want to drive because I will lose a parking space and I am tok cheap to pay for reserved.
It's worth it to not have to walk a block at 4:30 AM when I go to work.
Also I can but shot at Costco with no membership.
They delivered a bunk of stuff and I got $40 off plus free delivery
I got this plus a case Top Chico. No markup on water plus spend so much and get some percent off. Plus free delivery uber one.
Also cancelled Costco membership plus ha don't carry heavy water.

I used to use delivery services all the time prior to the pandemic. It was like 2 bucks for delivery and no additional fees. The food still cost the same amount. I remember telling people about it and everyone's response was: I like waiting in line and watching them make my food or I think it's weird

Now because everyone is brain dead they, for some reason, choose to spend like 30-50% more instead of just driving to pick it up. Now I just cook my own shit. Why even bother with it I dunno.

Imagine for a second there anon if tomorrow in any other normal job, I'd have that kind of behaviour delivery slaves have. Fired on the spot.
I have 0 respect for delivery faggots. They deserve their shit wages for being entitled cunts and they can keep dreaming about getting that tip.
Granted I'm in a first world country and not the USA so they don't do that.
Still not tipping.

nice opinion. meanwhile in reality uber are investing in creating a workplace safety committee here in australia and are going to employ about a dozen new staff, myself included. this is a white collar position so the salary should be susbsantial (and i'll be representing two states).

i think it would be a good idea for customers to be able to choose their driver from a choice of available drivers showing their customer satisfaction rating. then, as a customer, i could pick the guy with a 99% rating instead of the retard with 85%. with some kind of incentive for those drivers to accept that delivery.

first you select your food
then you select your driver
the higher the driver rating the more you pay for the delivery

for example; if i'm just ordering groceries i don't mind if they take a bit longer because groceries aren't time-critical, like hot food. but if i order hot food then i want the fast guy with the high rating.

the downside that i can see is thet as a driver i won't get any tips because as a 100% driver the customers selecting me would expect a higher quality of service, especially if they are already paying for it, so i'd simply be seen as doing my job when i break all the speed limits.

Customers will downvote you because the food took a while to make (not your fault), there were items missing from the order (that you can't check to verify), or that you're stuck in traffic.

Or they'll give you a thumbs down, take away the tip and report the order was never delivered because they don't to pay for their food.

If you haven't had a thumbs down in a while, it usually just means you haven't delivered to an ass in a while, which you can do by avoiding the cheap, low-paying customers who subsist off fast food.

HR wage thieves like you (assuming not a troll) are one of the main reasons Uber is going bankrupt. The company is charging riders more than they're willing to pay, paying drivers less than they're willing to work for, and it still consistently loses money. It has not had a single profitable quarter after over a decade of market saturation. With near 0% interest loans no longer available it will quickly run out of money and be forced into bankruptcy. The only possible futures for Uber and its clones are being gutted and integrated into actual profitable companies like Meta or going full Sears/Blockbuster.

I encourage you to sign a high value lease and take on large amounts of credit card debt though.

Not American so don't have to deal with your retarded tipping culture. I do agree that prices are insane compared to picking it up in person. Every time I check a food delivery service I always just go make my own food after realising I'd be paying 30 to 50% extra for the privilege of having an immigrant bring me my (probably terrible) food.

Probably would never order delivery if I had to worry about tipping though, Americans so silly.

And yes I manually go in and change the $7 suggested tip to $0 on every order, and do an online return of any fruits and vegetables that I don't like the look of.

Never used Uber. Never will. Them or any corpo delivery service.
I used a very local delivery service once (started by the niece of a friend) but it was so expensive I'm quite vaccinated from it now.
I have a car, why should I pay someone since I'll have to wait anyway.
