I have the same thing, I still eat shrimp anyways I just stop when it gets hard to breath and then I stop. There are these to-go boxes of fresh shrimp (comes with tartar sauce and a lemon) at my local grocery store for 5$ and it's like the perfect amount of shrimp before it gets too uncomfortable.
It does still suck cause when I was a kid I'd eat entire platters of the fuckers, went on a cruise one time, ate so much shrimp it was unreal.

Sorry about your crustacean situation, OP.
Question for /ck/. If you suddenly developed a food allergy, what would be worse?
Dairy, Eggs, Shellfish, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, or Gluten?
I have to say eggs. I have been eating six eggs a day for the last 15 years.

Not all shrimp are the same. You're allergic to something in the shrimp or the shellfish, and the last batch of shrimp you had was worse than usual.

>> No.19132278

Allergies are already to stupidest biological mechanism we have, but developing an allergy as you age goes into the negatives. Your body has already had years to understand that this thing is safe to eat, but then gradually decides to kill you if you eat it. What is responsible for allergies, I'm going to get it surgically removed.

You can try a prophylactic antihistamine before you eat prawns, maybe have a ventolin puffer and epipen nearby too if the allergy gets worse

If you're in Canada or the US, it could be a government mandated additive to flour, or it could be that particular flour had a higher than usual concentration of roundup residue because some farmers keep using that shit off label for desiccation and nobody ever tested for that.

Yuro. Wouldn't the additive be also present in the flour used on the spaghetti in that case?

Actually the English version fits the theme of the thread better. OP, it's alright that you're a faggot that can't eat shrimp anymore due to your allergy. It's OK to be a genetic defect, that means you're special :^)

My brother was diagnosed with celiac 13 years ago, any amount of gluten made him violently ill and screaming in agony. To this day if he accidentally gets any it's the equivalent of a kidney stone for a good 12-16 hours. We all took a blood test. My other brother and I carry a gene for it that isn't active but can be passed on or theoretically become active at some point. Two years ago my other brother started developing an insensitivity to it but it has gotten worse, to the point he won't fuck with gluten anymore. A few years ago my youngest brother just switched to keto and that looks miserable too. Luckily I'm the oldest so I probably have dodged it ever rearing it's head but still, never eating wheat or rye or drinking beer again would fuck me up big time. On that note, not eating shellfish would fuck me up too, I'm sorry OP.

I’ve dabbled with it a little. You get used to it and stop craving shit after a while, if your diet is structured properly such that your body is able to work with what you’re giving it.

Yes. People often get such allergies due to exposure, notably cockroach infestations. If there are bug parts in the environment, it trains your immune system to recognize it as a problem. People are known to get that allergy in labs that raise bugs if they wear inadequate PPE as well.
