>be me
>interested in certain country's cuisine's specific dish and how to make it
>search around and find youtube video made by person from country of origin of dish
>person talking speaks heavily accented broken English which is fine - I can deal
>shows the entire process - peels and cuts every single ingredient without any editing whatsoever
>video is almost an hour long due to showing the entire making of the dish in real time
>also watch other videos later and realize they were just winging it with the proportions of ingredients they had in the video
do amateur 3rd world youtube chefs really?

>I'm going to learn by watching random faggot that owns a smartphone
>Seems they may be unaccredited. Very surprising.

Pro-tip: assume every person on the internet is afraid of toilets and hide in their closet to shot themselves when nobody is looking. Some of them do.

A good chef wings it, do you really measure out all your spices and ingredients?
What a fucking autist.

The worst thing about watching youtube cooking vids is how most of the people making them are insecure fuckwits who have to qualify every single goddamned thing in 3 different ways so that the pseuds in the comment section don't get under their skin. Like if they don't use an exact ratio of rice to water or the type of rice that is 100% traditional or the exact cooking time for a specific doneness that is generally used for a dish, they have to litigate every single aspect and assure the audience that it's okay and they're not wrong for doing it differently.
When you truly have no idea what anything means it's somewhat useful because you get an idea for what is genrally accepted in different recipes, but once you have a grasp on what you could just google anyway, it just pads out the runtime of the video with useless air to get their length to past 10 minutes and preserve their egos from the mean comments.
