Lived here for seven years. Loved it. It's got annoying hipster shit like any American city but it was fun. Good place to see live shows without paying an arm and a leg, usually really easy to get around and even walk if you aren't a lard ass. Good film scene. Beautiful weather and wildlife. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my 20's anywhere else. The traffic is a bit much these days and I want to go live in a rural place now but I'll always come back to visit.

P. Terry's. A local couple tried to open a In-N-Out here in the 90s but corporate shot them down, so they copied their design, menu, and prices but with a green paint job and better food. Their burgers are far better than In-N-Out, are stupid cheap, and they have the greatest fast food fries of any chain.

Also we have the best (possibly only?) frozen Naples style pizza in the nation - look for BOLO pizza in any local HEB (assuming its not sold out). Its $12 but worth it.

Yeah bro and that shit taste good. You will not find a better chile con queso at a local taqueria (which also uses American cheese, just not nearly as good). It’s fusion and it works, fried chicken tacos, Jamacian Jerk, green chile pork, chicken tikka. It’s inspired but not an all authentic but more of a fusion food and it taste good. I have been eating Mexican food most of my life and I can honestly say it’s refreshing to see restaurants try something new than asada, onion, cilantro, and lime. They’re good and I love them, but the new shit is also good.

All the local Mexican places charge $12 minimum for a plate. Even the street tacos are like $14, and at a food truck will be $9 at best. These places also charge a shitton and I live somewhere where there is a taqueria on every corner.
