Cast iron is good for searing because it has a lot of thermal mass and it transfers heat rapidly to your food. So it can continuously dump heat into the food without cooling off. Stoneware and earthenware do the opposite. The material retains heat as well or better than cast iron, but disperses it into the food much more gradually, which can protect certain delicate ingredients from burning and losing their flavor. Stoneware also stays warm for longer, so when someone goes back for a second serving, the food is more likely to still be steaming hot. Dutch ovens have another advantage in that you can sear foods in the same pot as you make your soup, conserving your flavors, but this might not be required for everything.

Which cooking vessel do you reach for when cooking different types of foods?

why the fuck do couples insist on sharing a blanket?
just have 2 completely seperate blankets. that one's still connected at the bottom so one can still yank it off.

Why do they insist on sharing a bed? Because the purpose of a romantic relationship is sex and procreation. Can't easily do that if the wench wraps herself in her own blanket, can you?

Such a weird thread, I've never even heard of earthenware or stoneware cooking pots. I guess you're referring to clay?

You write like a complete looser. Like some awkward loser that calls women females.

Those are common terms, used both in the industry and by laypeople. Clay is too generic because not everything made out of clay is suitable for cooking. Is English not your first language?

I'm literally English and I've never heard either of those terms used to describe cookware. I have heard of clay cooking pots and that's it, although they are rarely used. If anything I suspect you're the ESL who doesn't realise those terms only used to describe crockery.

I think you mean *Pakistani. If words like "stoneware" and "earthenware" confuse and enrage you so much, maybe you should spend less time outside of your mosque.

Because it doesn't matter most of the time, and the times it does matter generally the Dutch oven is the superior option anyway. And the occasions stoneware would be slightly better don't generally matter as much.

I don't even own stoneware except for serving dishes. But I own 2 Dutch ovens.

I'm English and while the terms aren't unknown to me, they're still far from regular use terminology. If someone asked me for my earthenware pot or stoneware pot I would know what they're talking about, but I'd give them a weird look for being pedantic about the specific type.
