That recipe is retarded, I've made plenty of biscuits and never in my life have I seen one call for sugar let alone 3 tablespoons. You could easily leave that out and it would change nothing. Biscuits are just fluffy but still kind of dense bread, they are paired with savory foods. There is no reason for them to be sweet.
