Is there really a difference between something marinated 24 hours and something marinated for 30 minutes? Or is it just a massive meme and 30 minutes is suffice?

Will suffice. Not is. Return when you're not Brazilian for an answer.

The air you've exposed the chicken to for those 24 hours will have a great effect on the flavour than that marinade.

from my personal experience, no. But it's handy for splitting up the prep time for cooking over multiple days.

If there's an acid 24 hours makes too much of a difference. Chicken gets a little gummy, 12 hrs is the best

Most of the time 15-30 minutes is more than enough. The only time I would go 24 hours is if you're, like, brining a turkey or something.

The longer the better. Do it as long as you can without sacrificing the structural integrity of what's being marinaded.

Depends. If the marinade has enough salt, it can be considered a brine, then the longer the better.
