In the UK, Norfmen Scientists have perfected the pint glass.

It even has a cog-teeth style pattern cut into the glass, to better lock the pint glasses together when you have a handful of them and are trying to navigate a busy pub without a stray elbow, woman, or dog knocking them.

Carling itself is piss like. But that's not the point.

Got to disagree.
Pic rel is the best glass for beer to keep it fresh, the longest.
You just need to wash it thoroughly with dish soap by hand, and rinse in hot water and cool it down with cold water before filling.

And for all the haters.. I bet you never tried it.

It's my go to when at home and much better than the wide top glasses.
Also, the more froth and bubbles you get in a glass, the more impurities (dirty) your glass is.
When you poor your beer slowly, it should look flat, but taste carbonated.

Removing the labels is also a must for aesthetics, and it should be aprox 0,5 liters.

I just tried it one time when I didn't have a regular 0,5 liter glass, I didnt invent shit, I just discovered that it's actually better.
It does (as stated) need to be cleaned properly and preferably cooled with cold water.
And none of you ever tried it, so your comments are disregarded.

I've drunk beer out of a mason jar before. That's how I know it's inferior to drinking beer out of a glass.
Go to Goodwill or the Salvation Army, go to the kitchenware section, and buy a real pint glass.

>> No.18923353

>>18923329
I bet your beer, in the glasses you drink from, have bubbles traveling to the surface from the side and bottom of the glass, and a frothy top when you pour it.. am I rite?

I'm a fucking alky, with a love for beer..
But what ever, ignore it, or live a little, spend the same pound you would spend at the salvation army on a cheapo pasta glass at Aldi, and get a better result.
Dont trust me, I dont care, but I am 100% confident that "mason" jars are better than wide top glass (if properly cleaned, cooled and poured).

>> No.18923371

>>18923353
That's just what beer does when you pour it too hard.

>> No.18923398

>>18923371
Sure, you get head/top/froth if you pour too fast, but bubbles is not a good sign.
Its carbonation leaving your beer because of rifles/impurities/dirt/soap in your glass, and it will go flat sooner.
I pour my beer semi slowly into my mason jar and the top is gone in about 10 seconds (I never timed it, but the top is always less than half a centimeter and gone pretty quickly).

I've had enough beers and time on my hand to figure it out.. Believe it or not.
As I said, I dont really care, I'm just trying to share some knowledge after drinking an obscene amount of beers at home.

Sounds like 99.99% of the beer you get served at pubs.. and most glasses regular folks use.
Are you denying that your wide top glasses dont have bubbles traveling to the top?
I'm having a beer right now.. zero bubbles!

>> No.18923476

>>18923398
not necessarily
see the "nucleated bottom" of OP's image, that's what creates bubbles
It's possible for glass to have nucleation points, which basically means defects or purposeful textures in the glass it self that helps create bubbles

sometimes it's an unclean glass, sometimes it's just a logo or maybe a glass that wasn't melted right

>> No.18923509

>>18923445
I'm getting tired of debating it.
If you really want to know, use a regular glass and get a mason jar and follow the instructions I previously posted.
Pour them both slowly, let them sit for 10-20-30-40 minutes, taste, and see for yourself if there is a difference.
I'm confident you will see that I am right.. and this is not a pissing contest for me, it's just what I have experienced after heavy drinking for many years (I'm actually getting better with my drinking the last few weeks.. I got shit to do in my life for once..but it's Friday, so I "had to" indulge myself..)

Also.. Nitpicking.. dirty teeth is also a bad thing for beer drinking.. rough/dirty surfaces getting in contact with your beer is the point/science of the carbonation retention matter..

>> No.18923631

>>18923509
I want to maximize carbonation loss while minimizing foam generation. This is the ideal situation to drink beer as fast as possible.

>> No.18923668

>>18923631
Then you should probably pour it fast or shake it before you pour, get lots of foam, put it in the fridge and let it get flat and pour it down/drink fast (but that sounds disgusting to me).
Maybe vodka is better for you, if the point is to get drunk rather than the taste of beer... alternatively rum and coke.. lel

I like high carbonation, but not the top/foam.. and I dont mind drinking highly carbonated beer, fast.. but.. I'm hard core ;) kek
