No, kabaret is not a common food item here. I don't think I've seen it served once in my entire life. Regular sweet gelatine is more common than that.

Traditional norwegian food items consists of a lot of lamb and pig meat (made in any way but often cured or preserved in some way), fish, cheese, flatbread and regular bread, potatoes, root vegetables, game meat, pancakes, simple cakes and cookies, meatballs, berries and berry sauces, savoury sauces, porridge and other stuff that is eaten commonly all over europe.

Denmark:
Can I help you, sir? Can I help you, sir?!

USA:
I was kinda wantin' something to eat, mmm-hmm.

Denmark:
Well, um, what would you like?

USA:
You got any biscuits for sale in there?

Denmark:
No, this is Denmark. We don't serve biscuits. But we got a lot of other stuff, though.

USA:
What you got in there that's good to eat?

Denmark:
Well, we got Flæskesteg, Frikadeller, Medisterpølse, Smørrebrød, Uh, did you want me to go through the whole list?

USA:
Reckon what do you like to eat in there?

Denmark:
Well, the Brunede Kartofler are pretty good.

USA:
Brunede Kartofler potaters?

Denmark:
Yup, Brunede Kartofler

USA:
How much you want for 'em?

Denmark:
They're .60 for the medium and .75 for the large.

USA:
I reckon I'll have me some of the big uns.

Denmark
So one large Brunede Kartofler?

I really feel like Denmark should be excluded from the other scandis when it comes to food and cooking.

Like, we consistently produce the besr chefs and the best restaurants in the world. The only good thai restaurant? You will find it in copenhagen.

We produce so freaking much food, diary, cheese, pigs, butter, beer, seafood.. its unfair to compare us to the poor swedes and other scands.
