Why hasn't food been solved yet?

Why is there a new fad diet every 6 months?
I know the real reason is Big Food and Big Pharma promote diets and supplements that make them the most margins, but aside from that, why hasn't food been solved? 21 centuries not enough to figure that out?

marketing and paid for research dilutes the actual amount of factual information on various diets

because metabolism and nutrient absorption vary greatly from person to person, no diet works for everyone

Food has been solved since the beginning of time. Eat what grows around you. Now we access to what grows around the entire planet. So pick from that. Don't eat the bullshit that humans invented in the past century

>Big Food and Big Pharma promote diets and supplements
No they don't, moron. For one thing, they don't need to advertise for people to be idiots. For another, fad diets very quickly disrupt supply chain management, and as soon as a large company puts out diet-accomodating products in response, the fad may have died or changed or been cancelled just as easily as it might have gotten more popular and landed that company tons of money for being an early supplier. It's a huge risk for any company to make major changes for a fad unless it has dedicated big parts of its supply change speciifically to cater to fads (and I'm sure by this point in the internet era most have done so -- but it's still a high-risk proposition; for example, to respond to the keto fad companies had to get sourcing for significant amounts of xylitol and shit like that, and get factories retooled to have zero carb contact whatsoever -- even prepping for fast-changing supply lines can't account for the crazy new shit people want, and catering to that supply, spending months building capacity, only to have the fad die within months after you meet capacity, is a huge fucking loss to eat.)

To take an example, big companies *could* cater hard to paleo or raw food diets, but to do so would mean a lot of initial investment and major retooling into a lot of risky bets (like much more perishable food products that they'd have to push onto grocery stores and also lower production costs enough to make them not completely repulsive to consumers), and in the case of raw foods it's a diet that's been a minor fad on and off for centuries and has never gone viral, so doesn't seem like a worthwhile bet. On the other hand, the supply changes needed to go from Atkins to general low-carb to gluten-free and grain-free have been exceedingly minor, so companies have felt felt much safer getting on board with those fads very quickly as they got popular.

Hello big food shill. Healthy and organic foods have been the vogue since the late 2000s, you're not fooling anyone with your "ohhh it's so difficult to accommodate fad diets" spiel.

>Admits it's easy by the end of his post
Not even a very good shill.

it is solved
eat less, fatass. put the fork down. stop fucking eating. you can get fat on any diet but you'll never gain a pound if you stop eating.

Why hasn't medicine been solved yet?
Why is there a new snakeoil being peddled every 6 months? You're telling me we've had over 200,000 years to solve this shit and so called """"wise"""" men haven't come up with a solution?

You clearly don't understand that in the real world decisions are made with nuance. In a risk-reward calculation, to cater to one fad diet may be calculated as having positive returns, while another may calculate negative returns, thus a company will cater to one and not the other. Is that so hard for your smooth brain to fucking comprehend?

Big food does cater to fad and meme diets. There's tons of specialty foods that are specific to paleo, vegetarians, vegans, keto, all those whackjobs.

this.
Why do you think people have been fasting for thousands of years?
It's not a matter of diet, it's a matter of input and output. If you are inputting more than you are outputting, you will have a net gain that builds up leading to fatness.

Lmao the shill is very mad. He thinks he's the only one who knows how industry operates.

As I said, healthy food has been in vogue since the mid to late 2000s. Every new superfood that gets shilled is to make Big Food money on the margins, and food safety standards means they'd need to refresh their machinery every 10 years anyway.

Perhaps it is you who doesn't know what they're talking about.

There is a pretty good idea in nutrition science which foods promote health and which are detrimental. It's just because sophists like this guy get way too much attention in the media that so many people get confused about it.
