I live next to a building that used to be a Rax
My parents would talk about it anytime they drove by coming over. Would rave about how good it was.

I literally thought it was a local joint, had no clue it was a fucking Arbys until I actually looked it up.
Killed a bit of the mystique for me

This beautiful little shop called Odeco. They did these lovely lunches.
A date took me here once, I swear I was the only guy in the place. I loved it so much I took another date here, and later a few friends besides.
It closed down a few years back. I'll really miss it.

Carmine's in Metairie, LA. They had the best tomato sauce I've ever had. After moving locations, they struggled to get the same amount of business and their food suffered as a result. They held on for years, but it was a slow death.

This sadly is very common. Happened to my favorite pizza place which tried to move out of the poor community into a nicer one.

Yes the old store was fucking garbage, but why would they spend the time and money to move if they werent going to focus on good food and good service.
Sad

Roosters is actually pretty good if you have any sort of fondness for greasy bar food, cause it's just a higher teir of it. The wing sauces are good and the burgers are a decent size (but always seem a little too cooked for my liking)
