2. Won’t pass congress anyway

no, some executive branch regulatory agency wants to unilaterally declare such a ban, so they dipped their toes in the water just to feel things out in terms of what pr controversy would ensue and now here we are. don't mean to go full /po/ on you

1) gets hotter or colder immediately
2) makes a pretty fire
3) warms up the rest of the room as well as the food
4) you can light cigarettes on it
5) if you're invaded you can do that thing like in Phantasm II where you leave it leaking gas into the room and then make a spark to burn all the baddies

>> No.18808522

I can guarantee they end up reversing this. The electrical grid can barely handle the load it has now, it won't be able to handle every car and stove in the state running on electricity as well. There would be even MORE riots in the streets if rolling blackouts became the norm and people couldn't access the internet because the power's been out for days and all their electronics are dead.

Something slowly heating up and cooling down, or pulsing, is not the same as a flame being whatever size you want it to be instantly including gone. You have very little control compared to gas.

We had single burner induction ranges at work that cost close to 1.5K. This may not sound like much, but it's just a single burner, nothing else, no oven, table, nothing. They couldn't get hot enough to fucking sauté in properly. Induction is not for perpetually maintaining high heat unless you want to spend a downpayment on a house.

junk science massaged meta study of other studies reached the conclusion that muh childrens are dying of asthma due to gas cooktops in the home, so therefore everybody must cook on the electric grid from now on or face fines and penalties under authority of government power, in all newly built homes going forward
presumably, such thinking and policy could lead to banning gas powered stoves and ovens in the commercial setting as well thus furthering the destruction of small scale restaurant operators in our economy
fun times will be had by all

>> No.18808636

It's not Biden it's just the retards he enables and they're not coming to get your stove, they're just talking about trying to make it illegal to buy a new one without going electric which is both retarded and stupid.

No it's not that big of a deal in the immediate future, but it would be fucking dumb for me to be forced to buy a black market stove in a couple years when I want to upgrade my kitchen in the name of preventing hypothetical asthma in children I don't have. Granted it's not going to go anywhere because it's gigaretarded but that's kind of the point, people in appointed positions of power are wasting my tax dollars investigating the viability of telling me I'm not allowed to buy something for reasons that don't make any logical sense.

I hate that "wont pass anyways" cope you see sometimes, ususlaly from the left. The reason it wont pass is that there is a faction of people working to oppose it, otherwise it would pass... So which faction do you like more on the issue?

>> No.18808652

if we had rational thinkers in our government the solution to this supposed problem would be to require ventilation hoods accompany any gas powered cooktop/oven in a residential setting and maybe some elon musk type could invent quieter fans to run them with the same cfs draw as the loud ones we have now do.
but nothing like that ever happens

Any fire that resulted from this obviously staged scene would be ruled arson. A traditional electric stove would carry the same risk. Either type of stove with a better knob layout would solve the manufactured problem. It's a condemnation of negligent pet owners if anything.

Insurance companies don't require that dogs be kept in crates, and some will even reduce premiums due to reduced risk of burglary. It's the resting of a flammable object on an ignition source that will give the insurance company a hard-on.

We outsourced everything else, why not pollution as well? Though iirc, the energy loss from a gas stove is less than an electric range. Don't know about induction.

people don't see the plan is to ban gas so there's jack shit after the power goes out. then eventually the power will come back on and they'll charge 5x more for it and your gas stove is still dead so you gotta start a fire outside or go bankrupt
