The only tasty thing about gold leaf is all the delicious seething from poors crying about "wasteful decadence", when they don't realise that gold leaf costs practically nothing. My cheap Casio terrorist wristwatch probably contains more gold than the amount of gold used to cover one of salt bae's shitty overpriced steaks.

That's where I have a problem with gold leaf is that it's faggy and tacky dressing used to make mediocre food that wouldn't be out of place in an outback steakhouse seem like something more than it really is. But I suppose fools and their money are easily parted.
