It was more of a ding at Jamie Oliver for whining about Brexit, he basically said "put up or shut up." That's not true at all though. What you are expressing is the common omnivore's assumption that vegans want to be eating things that mimic meat products and common meat dishes. Butvin reality the only people who go for things like that are typically people trying to switch their diet from omnivore to vegan for some other reason.

"Real" vegans, as in the ones who just live it as the life style they choose have little to no interest in trying to make an eggplant into something like a steak. They'd just cook up the eggplant and enjoy it that way, bread and fry them, into a soup or babaganoush. An eggplant is already delicious to them.

Again I am not vegan, but even I grasp that concept and I'm not a trained chef. That Gordon Ramsey both can't make that leap and produces something genuinely vile that he thinks would impress them seals the deal on him being a hack.

And all this is completely ignoring his grilled cheese which is just about as terrible. Dude is a good TV personality, he's a terrible chef.
