Australian spiny lobster anon. Tastes simular to Atlantic lobster but smaller and no big claws. Nothing beats a proper Maine lobster but these make a bitchin' chowder. Prices recently dropped because Chiner stopped importing them because they're having a hissy fit over Australia not wanting to become a Chinese proxy.

sometimes you can actually buy frozen (cooked) Atlantic lobster from Coles here in Aus but it's just not the same as fresh, so I opt for the little spinies because you can get them freshly caught at least. Went to a banquet in Boston once and they had a 20lb lobster as the centrepiece of the spread. The staff shelled it and cut it up into a literal mountain of lobster meat, was very nice

I take trips up the coast and love the lobster shacks
Picnic tables outside with newspaper as a table cloth and then fresh caught that day lobster cheap as hell, no pretense just grub out

Mmmm there are a ton a great places around New England to get a nice lobster roll, Block Island is probably my top but Captain Scott's Lobster Dock in New London CT is fucking amazing. Just resent the fact it's in CT and not RI or MA
