>tfw a few hours until Christmas Eve and I only have 5 fishes in the house

Can I use tendies and mushrooms as surrogate fishes?

Yes, but I'm cheating and putting four fishes in the closer because otherwise it takes too long. I have to cook turkey dinner the next day. It's not a relaxing holiday for me.

Yep, every year
Then on christmas day we don't really eat a meal, just a light breakfast, fruit and such some breads and cheese throughout the day with various cold meats, lot's of wine

The last dish. I'm making bouillabaisse with cod, snapper, mullet, and mussels. Maybe some prawns if I can find some fresh U12s.

I'm just imagining what I would do for Seven Fisches had I planned ahead or had anyone to cook for:
>plate with seven segments, one in the middle with 6 surrounding partitions.
>centre: toasted bread bowl with clam chowder
>1: broiled lemon-pepper whiting fillet served on thick tomato/white bean stew, topped with dollop of sizzling hot lemon pulp in garlic butter
>2: nest of spaghetti in olive oil tuna confit caper sauce with wilted rocket and parmesan, sour lemon drizzle
>3: toasted slab of sourdough topped with grilled prawns generously drenched in savoury cream sauce
>4: spiced rice with lobster chunks and paper thin habanero slices and tarragon, served on a pool of sweet orange butter
>5: seared sea scallops on toasted udon with a sweet chirri dipping area
>6: miniature stack of buttermilk pancakes with thin cedar-plank smoked salmon slices topped with sticky maple/black pepper glaze

Feast of the 7 fishes is the biggest holiday for my family we will have 10 people coming and almost everyone brings something.
We make extra stuff for people who don't like certain dishes and we make certain dishes even though only 2-3 people will eat them because it's traditional.
