Ok, so I've been posting here for a couple of years now and I feel like the time has come for me to learn how to cook. What resources do you guys recommend? I want something with healthy recipes that holds my hand from A to Z
t. 28 yo boomer who only knows how to cook pasta (Al dente)

Are you a grill?
My favorite way to make al dente spaghetti is to actually cook it all the way and then fry it in garlic+olive oil for a few minutes before putting it in a baking pan at 350F for 25 minutes with a lot of parmesan in the frying and baking process. And then some red pepper flakes when it's ready.

>cut up meat of your choice and spice it
>fry with diced onions
>pair with rice and add wet stuff (salsa, sauce) and/or cheese
Now you can cook enough to take care of yourself
>substitute rice for various pastas, or even potatoes if you want to push yourself
>cut up veggies that fit your spices and fry those too
>replace garlic powder with real garlic (keep in freezer so they last)
>bake your own bread and add a slice as a side
>start thinking about how to plate your meals so you can actually have sides
Here you're already visibly better than most people your age, who rely on restaurants and apps to keep them alive
>have now cooked enough to know what you like making and are interested in learning more about
>google how to make homemade versions of anything you're getting out of a jar or can
>learn to make meals that are similar to things you already make but with a new ingredient or method
>buy a kitchen gadget like an instant pot or food processor and look for ways to incorporate it into your rotation
>buy a random veggie you've never had before and find a recipe to use it in before it goes bad
The way to learn how to cook is to make yourself want to learn, and continuing to explore ingredients and styles of food you enjoy both eating and preparing are key.

>Made from grain, spaghetti is energy-dense, with more than 200 calories per cup. It is a good source of complex carbohydrates, with more than 40 grams of carbs in one serving. It's not well suited to low-carbohydrate diets, but it is a low-fat food on its own and encouraged as part of a heart-healthy diet.

Bunch of fucking secondaries on this board it's wild.

Anyway the Basics with Babish playlist is surprisingly good, depending on HOW terribly you start out.

I started to learn by mastering soups, and finding my way around different cuts of meat.
Also getting into the habit if organizing meals ahead of time, and prepping before you cook is s good start. Just familiarize yourself with food.

Go to food wishes as well... chef John is the best.
