The one you think is vegan is a roast dinner. Note the chicken in the top left. The orange mash is likely turnip and carrot. The entire dinner sits on two giant Yorkshire puddings. Also of note are the two pigs in blankets. I suspect this may be a Christmas dinner due to those but could be wrong.

They should do their own version of this in Japan. What would it consist of? Onigiri? Various sushis? Whatever kind of brothless noodles of choice (udon, yakisoba, etc)? Shrimp? Japanese chicken wings? This stuff obviously has to be finger food and not slopped with tons of messy sauces or broth. Or maybe it could? I dunno.
