Like peanuts without the nutty taste.
Like mashed potatoes without the potato taste.

I'm with you on chickpeas and potatoes
Black beans, cannelini beans, cous cous, peanuts too if we're talking proteins/carbs
Otherwise I love me my portobello mushrooms and pickled chillies

Potatoes and chickpeas are great. My submission is lentils.

I eat meat. I ate meat yesterday, pork with oyster mushrooms. Today is a no meat day. Red beans with pasta.

>>18671861
I like vegetables in general with few exceptions. Fresh (or frozen) peas, I guess? Full of country goodness and green peaness.

How does couscous, a pasta (ie based on grain) fit into that list of beans/legumes?

>portobello mushrooms
Love them bitches. All mushrooms, really.

Fair enough. It's a cultural thing for me. Some days are no meat. No day is no dairy. Fuck veganism.

I don't know what my favorite non meat is but I realised the other day that I, an irishman, could eat onion bhajis every day happily and that's pretty much chickpeas and onions, but part of the lasting appeal is the shitloads of spices which seem to be lacking here.

>> No.18672538

I prefer garbanzos. Much higher in saturated protein.

I made some bean burritos the other day which were fantastic.

>refried beans
>black beans with chopped fresh cilantro mixed in
>Chef John's mexican rice (https://youtu.be/YVxASSr6B_Q))
>sauteed onions
>shredded cheese
>salsa

One can each of the black beans and refried beans makes about 6 burritos and they freeze/reheat pretty good

I like boiled potatoes, peas and a little sweet pepper dressed with olive oil, smoked paprika and capers.
But most of the time, I eat it as a sidedish

Imagine if lentils had enough mass to bite into and had a bread that's slightly old taste, not moldy or stale, but that taste bread gets when it starts to harden a lil.
