Over 99% of animal products come from factory farms like this one.

Name the trait present/lacking in animals that if present/lacking in humans would justify eating them.

>animals are stupid

So if a human was less intelligent than a pig would it be okay to turn her into bacon?

I shrimply do not buy meat, eggs, milk, etc from places like this. It's not hard to shop local but it can be expensive depending on what you want.

>> No.18641261

I really do want to wean myself off of meat, but it's very hard to do. Vegan alternatives continue to be absurdly expensive, and growing your own food is becoming more difficult due to states making it illegal to grow produce in your own yard. Also, meat here is quite cheap, I can feed a family of 4 for only 10 dollars. I'm sorry, it's just more convenient.

Forcing religion onto people or animals is wrong

Factory farming or stoning people to death
>>18641260
You don’t eat at restaurants?

Is it ethical to kill something that doesn’t want to die? That’s lived a fraction of its life?

That’s isn’t a justification though.
Obviously slavery is cheaper than paying people….

I agree but animal products are subsidized. You are right soy milk shouldn’t be double the price of cow milk per ounce. Make it yourself?

Being an animal isn't a religious distinction or an arbitrary one. You can try to parse thing out and get philosophically sophmoric, but at the end of the day it just comes down to animals being animals. That's all it is. I'm sure the way we view animals will change at some point in the future, but we're just not there yet, and no argument is going to change that.

We're all slaves anyway, since they pay us in useless currency. We're just a step away from being forced to live in Amazon sheds, getting paid with amazon funbucks so we can eat edible cardboard to survive. IDC anymore.

>this is not a real argument you are making here
I've been through every argument every vegan has ever made. At the end of the day all it comes down to is the fact that animals are animals. That's the way we view them, and that's why it's different. No matter what any vegan tries to argue it always comes down to some non-rational, gut reaction they've had to seeing animals in cages or looking at meat and getting the idea in their head that it's disgusting. If you haven't had that gut reaction all arguments will fall flat. Call it a Wittgensteinian "argument" if you want. That's just how things are.

I'm gonna eat even more meat now, just to spite you, OP. I'll make sure to get chicken hearts and livers, and cow livers too, to make some delicious patê, so that more of those tasty animals get killed and even more are bred to become meat for me.

Animals have ways of communicating even if they are sometimes different than ours.

Man was given dominian over the earth and the beasts and St. Peter was told to "rise... kill and eat". This is all due to our fallen nature, as if Adam and Eve had not tasted of the Tree of Knowledge we would have lived in such harmony with animals that lions would rest their heads on our laps.
since that is not so and cannot be until the end of time, God in His great mercy has allowed us to sustain ourselves on the creatures that are not created in His image.

Factory farms are just a reflection of an entire botched culture, wouldn't you agree? Where you seek some kind of petty liberation of livestock you do not seem to consider at all the real tradeoffs. You are also damn fool if you think you are advocating some kind primitive or back to nature thing with veganism. My primate ancestors ate meat so will I. tldr; nobody is in love with bitter realities of this world but cattle for man and man for cattle, i will still eat meat farmed this way or not. your masochism is no form of effective protest
