chicharonies is a Mexican dish made from pork skin deep fried until crunchy and crispy sold and eaten like potato chips /crisps
when dry and crunchy, it is a snack and some will add red hot suave to them
also used in meals by adding normally mild a green chili sauce and is often wrapped into a tortilla to make a burrito or just on a plate.
when rehydrated, they get chewy and rubbery and I personally am disgusted with the texture but I can and will power through a bag of dry chicharonies
dried chip/crisp versions often have chili and lime flavor added

right is rehydrated in green chili sauce
