Don't store tinned foods sideways or upside down, deenzer. The top seam is the most vulnerable part of the can.

>> No.18572775

>>18572744
That's weird because some of the tins I have recommend flipping them every few months (presumably to make sure the contents are covered in oil evenly). And some Japanese and French tins have the label at the bottom, so I figured "upside-down" is the correct way to orient them, is that wrong?
The Patagonia ones that are sideways are vacuum-sealed pouches, not cans.

It would be interesting to see how they orient them for shipping. It's not what you'd do if you want the cans to last.

The last box I got had tins in all directions packed together. I googled canned fish storage and couldn't find any indication that it's bad to put them on their side or "upside down", what's your source?

They Goya are OK, Connetavle are great. The TJ’s I bought on a whim and the Starkist were a gift from my in-laws.

Parodi are my mainstay.

I also have a pate shelf.

I keep another 8-pack split between my liquor cabinet and beer/wine fridge so I'd just pull out a whole 8-pack if I had to get more, but the boxes also open from the side.
